Aprašymas

We all like a good fairy tale, don't we? Even if we don't want to admit it.

But look beyond the fairy tales.

In Fairy Tales With Teeth and Other Short Stories, Barry Widdowson takes familiar stories and turns them into something unexpected, irreverent and sometimes decidedly dark.

What happens when Sleeping Beauty wakes up after a hundred years? What if Rapunzel's hair becomes more than she ever bargained for? What if the Three Pigs, Cinderella, Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk and other familiar characters lived in a world where magic, modern life and very bad decisions collide?

Beyond these twisted fairy tale retellings lies a collection of original stories exploring ghosts, vampires, mysterious visitors, haunted places, magic, strange encounters and the darker possibilities hiding beneath ordinary life.

From humour and fantasy to horror and suspense, these stories explore friendship, fear, loss, choices and the unexpected consequences that can follow when the world takes a turn you never saw coming.

The collection also includes the Drake Manor sequence, where friendship, secrets and supernatural forces come together in a haunting story that refuses to stay buried.

Some stories will make you laugh. Some may make you uneasy. Others may leave you wondering what you would have done.

This book has been 20 years in the making and has, at times, scared me more than any ghost story.

Step beyond the familiar fairy tales.

Not every story has a happily ever after.
